Film poster and trailer-Analysis

Film poster and trailer- Analysis

Fast and the Furious 6:

Genre: Action/Romance

Key Conventions (poster): Title of publication, production blurb, a strong intriguing image, release date and flash names

Key Conventions (trailer): Voiceover, Release date, title of publication at the end, background music, screen text and short dramatic clips

Target Audience: The target audience is 15-46 years

Why it was so successful: The movie is so successful as firstly fans of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker would definitely watch it. Moreover, this movie is suitable for people who are into racing and action films which broadens the audience more. The trailer also leaves suspense for the audience which makes them wanting to watch it making the film popular.

Harry Potter 7:

Genre: Fantasy

Key conventions (poster): Good strong central image, Title of publication, production blurb, effective tag line, release date and flash names

Key conventions (trailer): Warnerbros sign, background music, voiceover, short dramatic clips, relase date, title of publicayion, platform (3D), website and screen text

Target Audience: 12-40

Why it was so successful: I think Harry Potter was a successful movie because of its magic. Everyone wants to believe that magic exists; they want to become wizards like Harry. It is also because of the actual story, his parents were murdered but some how he survived which intrigues the readers as they'd want to know how. Moreover, as there are 7 series it tells us its successful. If the audience liked the very first film, the'd go and tell the friends so on so forth (voice of audience).

Abduction:

Genre: Action/Romance

Key conventions (poster): Title of publication, effective central image, production blurb, flash names, screen text and release date.

Key conventions (trailer): Lionsgate sign, voice over, short intriguing clips, background music, flash names, credits, title of publication, coming soon, website and social sites e.g facebook

Why it was so successful: I think the movie was successful because of the characters. Fans of Taylor Lautner would definitely be interested in the movie. In addition, the story behind it is quite fascinating as he doesn't know who he is; he doesn't know who he's living with and who is real parents are.

Film Poster and Trailer-Key Conventions

The genre of this Bollywood film is a hybrid. It has a mixture of drama and romance. It is also a musical. We know this because the poster clearly shows a couple in love. It shows us the man protecting his other half, from the rain, with his coat. Moreover, it also shows the tag line 'Love Makes Life Live' which tells us its a romance movie as well as drama as when two people are in love, there's always something which goes down hill. The trailer also shows the main characters arguing, which intrigues the readers into it more. Furthermore, we can tell its a musical as, all Bollywood movies have songs in the them. It also, shows us a couple of songs in the trailer.

Key conventions of the poster:
Title
Name checks
Colour Scheme
Central image

Key conventions of the trailer:
Release date
Voice over
Songs
Title
Make-up
Fighting

The target market for this film would be 20-45. However, in my opinion i think it is really 15-45. This is because, most teenagers (females) like romance, sad movies as well as the older population. I think this film is mainly for females, about 80% females and 20% male. This is because females are more interested in love whereas, males like action, fighting, explosion movies.
We think this is a successful movie as the trailer really engages and intrigues the target audience into it. It shows short dramatic clips from the movie which really makes the target audience wanting to watch it more.

Typography

Typography

Heyy bloggers :)

For this task i had been given a set of words which i had to be creative and decide fonts and styles which would associate with that specific word. For example, the word 'falling'. I decided to make the word fall as the meaning of falling.. basically means falling xD The word Emperor has been written in capital letters. The font used is sophisticated and looks royal.

For this second task, i had to choose 3 words and make them look like what they mean. Yes, that sounds confusing, however i'll explain a bit better. So, for example the word 'Madness'. I decided to make some letters in higher case as it makes it look wild. The paint splodge is used in the background as it highlights the wildness of it. The font used makes it look fun and crazy and wacky. So you probably know why i put a crown on top of emperor, to highlight how high it is and a skull on radiation to show how dangerous it is :)

Well that's all from me guys, hope you enjoyed
till next time

Print Advert-mariobros

                                                  MarioBros2

Last week my task was to analyse a recent video game using the word LIAR however, I wasn't in then as I was on a school trip. Now you all are probably wondering what on earth LIAR is. Well here it is..
L - language
I - institutions
A - audience
R - Representation

Language: The language used on the game really appeals to its audience which is 6 and over. The font is effective as it allows us to tell what the target audience is. The background colour  is a yellowish golden colour which really highlights the mood of the game, also yellow connotes happy and fun with highlights the fact that its suitable for youngsters age 6+. Moreover, the colours used are very bright and abstract which engages then target audience into it and so they'd want to buy it. Consequently, the large image on the front as we all know is MARIO, attracts a lot of children as Mario is a very famous character.

Institution: The developer of MarioBros 2 Is Nintendo EAD, the publishers are Nintendo and the creator of them is Shigeru Miyamoto. The platforms in which this game can be played on are: Nintendo 3DS and online.  Moreover, Mariobros 2 is the second in its series, the fact that it even has series suggests Mario is a very successful game and will continue on. Furthermore, reviews have been outstanding and some have stated they can't wait for the next one to come out.

Audience: Mariobros2 has been target at a young audience aged 6+, this is due to the fact that there are many animated famous characters within the game which attracts them. The game is targeted at both genders and is created specifically for them. Additionally, the bright, vibrant colours intrigues the audience into the game as it looks enjoyable and fun.

Representation: Overall, in my opinion on the game is that it has been made suitably for its target audience and it will be very successful in the market over time. This is because of the fun, joyful colours as well as the animated characters on it. The print advert shows us a world of adventures with the characters going through many obstacles and missions to save the princess.

Well that's all from me guys, hope you liked it toodles :)

HSBC Advertisement :)

Hey again : D

Today my task was to create a HSBC advertisement using Photoshop. I first thought of a word, freedom and then had to look for images associated with the word. I used an image of Martin Luther King, a car and a bird. I chose the word freedom as everyone deserves to be treated equally. No one should be kept in captivity, we deserve to be free. Also, people who switch to HSBC can leave their money in the hands of them and rely/trust them. Their money can be kept safe with them. I used the image of martin Luther  king as he is an inspiration to everyone. He wanted there to be freedom and peace throughout the world. He never gave up and stuck to what he believed in. There were many perks however, in the end he won. I chose an old American car to create my message as cars are free to do whatever they want, they can go anywhere and basically are free to do whatever, the driver does to it. I decided to use an image of a bird as its quite obvious. Birds can go wherever they want, they have freedom. They're independent, yet strong.
Hope you enjoyed it bloggers :)

Analysis of video game-GTA 5

                                                                   Grand Theft Auto 5

Hey bloggers :)
Today my task was to research a video game analysing and evaluating it. So, i decided to use Grand Theft Auto 5 as it will be one of the most successful games made.. Below is some information about it :)

What it’s about: Grand Theft Auto V is an action-adventure game played in third-person. The player uses attacks, weapons and explosives to fight enemies, and can run, jump, swim, or use vehicles to navigate the game's world.  The single-player mode of Grand Theft Auto 5 is played through three player-controlled protagonists, criminals whose stories interconnect as they complete missions. The game is presented as an open world; it is a large, open map which can be freely roamed when the player is not partaking in missions.
Key information: Grand Theft Auto 5 is an upcoming video game.  The game is to be released on the 17th of September 2013. Grand Theft Auto 5 is said to be a ‘third-person shooter’ set in an open world of Southern California.  The platform this game can be played on is on the Xbox and Play station 3. The price of the game is £34.99 .Rockstar believes that the game already "feels 'next generation'".

Institutions: The game was being developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games.
Reviews:

“What intrigues me most about Grand Theft Auto 5 isn’t jump jets or SCUBA diving, smoking weed or that mooted act of necrophilia, its Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. It’s the bold attempt to weave a cohesive narrative using three very different perspectives”
“Los Santos is an incredible place, and you get to see it through three very different sets of eyes”

“It’s a long-standing storytelling technique, but one rarely used by games. Changing point of view subtly alters your relationship with that character, emotionally and morally

Genre: The genre of this game is possibly action-adventure, open world and crime. This is due to the fact that there is a lot of violence, blood and death in it. It is the first main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series since Grand Theft Auto 4 was released in 2008.
Distributions: Blu-ray Disc and 2 DVDs.

The game is being marketed and promoted through a variety of media such as YouTube, posters, adverts, leaflets and many more. The mode in which this game can be played is single-player only.
Target Audience:  The audience this game is aimed at is for young adults aimed 18 and over. It is said that ‘the game cannot be played by anyone under the age of 18 as there is too much violence in it.

How it was marketed/promoted? The trailer below is how the company had advertised their product to get people to buy it. It is the official game trailer of the product.

The picture shown is a advertisement of the game 'Grand Theft Auto 5'

So far it has sold between 13 and 14 million units. It cost Them a reported of £170 million to create the game and each copy is selling for less than $120.

Why is it so popular?? How did they do this?? Response:  "GTA's success is that taking a stroll down any given street is just as enjoyable as racing through the streets in a stolen limo fending off the cops. Grand Theft Auto breathes. The game world feels like it would still exist, even if you weren't in it, and to simply walk around and watch as the world beats on, to witness the artistry of the game's designers in constant motion, is strangely exciting".

Nowadays, young adults/teenagers enjoy crime games with a lot of violence throughout. Making this game for them...

I think the reason that Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series are so popular because the open-world design allows players a lot of freedom to explore and be creative on their own, without  having to worry about  the game's missions. The openness of the game or the world itself really help draw you in and make the game a unique experience for each player. It allows them to do whatever they want and be unique at what they'll do.

That's all peeps, hope you enjoyed it see yaa xD

In Addition, media allows me to be unique and creative which makes me stand out as better individual. I would like to achieve big things in media. My aim is to achieve a grade A in media as i think i would be quite successful in it.
