Film poster and trailer-key conventions

Film Poster and Trailer-Key Conventions

The genre of this Bollywood film is a hybrid. It has a mixture of drama and romance. It is also a musical. We know this because the poster clearly shows a couple in love. It shows us the man protecting his other half, from the rain, with his coat. Moreover, it also shows the tag line 'Love Makes Life Live' which tells us its a romance movie as well as drama as when two people are in love, there's always something which goes down hill. The trailer also shows the main characters arguing, which intrigues the readers into it more. Furthermore, we can tell its a musical as, all Bollywood movies have songs in the them. It also, shows us a couple of songs in the trailer.

Key conventions of the poster:
Title
Name checks
Colour Scheme
Central image

Key conventions of the trailer:
Release date
Voice over
Songs
Title
Make-up
Fighting

The target market for this film would be 20-45. However, in my opinion i think it is really 15-45. This is because, most teenagers (females) like romance, sad movies as well as the older population. I think this film is mainly for females, about 80% females and 20% male. This is because females are more interested in love whereas, males like action, fighting, explosion movies.
We think this is a successful movie as the trailer really engages and intrigues the target audience into it. It shows short dramatic clips from the movie which really makes the target audience wanting to watch it more.
